A two-run triple by pitcher Cory Labov put the Sting ahead early in the second inning. The Sting offense was also boosted by hard-hit singles from third baser Molly Cohen, shortstop Jordan Baker, first baser Veronica Timpane, and a perfect bunt single from second baser Molly Greene. On defense, left fielder Boothe Carlson made a nice running catch on well-hit fly to the outfield and catcher Brooke Tannahill provided a steady presence behind the plate. Despite holding the edge throughout most of the game, defensive errors proved costly in the later innings as a tough Livermore squad came back to win.

Sting Blue 10-U’s victory against Pleasant Hill clinched fifth place in the tournament and an automatic entry into the regional championships next month in Atwater.
