Game 5:

Sting vs Roseville Thunder Red.

In a rematch with the Thunder Red things did not go as well for the Sting as the Thunder batted around in the first inning effectively putting the game out of reach with 11 runs being scored. The Sting did come back with a run of their own in the first when Kendal Kirkman drove an 0-2 pitch over the right fielders head for a double, which easily scored Brooke Tannahill who had singled. That was all the Sting could muster and the Thunder Red rolled to an 14-1 win eliminating the Sting.

Sting pitcher Sammie Chiang took a vicious line drive off the top of head in the 3rd inning and had to leave the game. After the game Sammie who had been checked by medical staff on hand appeared to be doing fine but she was still holding the ice bag to her noggin. Hope your feeling better Sammie.

    Hi All,

Sammie is feeling much better now - just a little tender spot on top of her head. She really appreciates everyone’s concern and support, especially from her teammates. We will keep a close eye on her tonight, but knowing her, she’ll want to be at practice tomorrow.

    Ken
